3-Year Old Laughs

* His conscious got the best of him.....
Brooks has seen me take Tums a few times lately and his Rue Rue and Papaw take them a lot too. Well, Brooks calls them "thumbs." Everytime he sees the bottle, he says, "Momma, I need some thumbs for my tummy." I always tell him no. Tums are not candy they are for older people. Anyway, Rue Rue said that she was keeping Brooks on Tuesday and he saw the Tums bottle. He told her he wanted some and that his mommy said it was OK if he took them. Rue Rue told me that she knew that I had not said that, but she wanted to see what Brooks did. So she said she gave him one and said, "Well, if your Mommy said it was OK, then I guess you can have one." (She was not really going to let him eat it.) She said that Brooks walked a few steps and then stopped and turned around. He walked back to her and said, " I better not take this, my Mommy said I couldn't have them." Guess we are going to have to teach about lying soon!!

*Aim for the blueberry.....
When we first began potty training Brooks last year we taught him how to aim for the Cheerios or marshmallows in the potty. He loved "shooting" at them! Anyway, the other night I was have one of my vomiting spells and Brooks runs in the bathroom. I raise my head up from the commode (great image isn't it) to see him holding a blueberry. I said, "Brooks, go in there and I will be better in a few minutes." He said, "Mommy, I have a great idea. How about I throw this blueberry in the potty and you can aim for it with your throw-up!" Have I mentioned that he has Jeff's "sick" humor as well!

*Best friends....
Brooks has ALWAYS been a Momma's boy (which is so sweet), but it has gotten a little worse lately. (Maybe because of the new baby coming??) Anyway, now when we sit at the table he wants to sit right next to me...shoulder to shoulder..... well, the other night we were eating dinner and he turns to me and pats my shoulder and says in the sweetest voice, "Mommy, you are my best friend." I just about melted. I thought to myself the Good Lord sure knows what he is doing giving me another sweet boy!
