Let the Constuction Begin

I knew that when we had Brooks that we would accumulate a lot of things, but not this much stuff. We are simply out of room! So for the last several months we have been struggling with the decision of whether to move or add on to our house. We researched some houses on the Internet, met with a realtor, and viewed several houses. We knew that we wanted to go bigger, but without a house payment that would make me go back to work full time.... so we decided to add on to our house. We LOVE our neighborhood. We are constantly outside, along with many of our neighbors, we have a great 1/2 acre mountain view lot, so we feel that we made the right decision for us. The construction began this week. We are adding about 710 sq feet to our house, which will put us at about 2200 sq feet! We are adding a den area and a master bed and bath. That will make us have 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, and 2 living areas! We are very excited and hope to be in the new part in mid-July. I am planning on doing a weekly post on the progress.

Because we are adding a bedroom we had to add 100 ft to our septic line. We are so cheap that Jeff decided to dig the line himself... I told him that we could at least afford a metal shovel! HaHa!
