13.1 miles.... WE DID IT!

Yesterday Jeff and I ran in the Knoxville Half-Marathon. We have been training since the beginning of January and working hard towards beating our time from last year and running all of the course. I am pleased to say that we accomplished both of our goals. Jeff finished in 2:04 beating last year's time by about 5 minutes. I finished in about 2:40, beating my Nashville Half-Marathon time by about 15 minutes! I am also very excited to say that WE BOTH RAN ALL 13.1 MILES! (I, of course, had a much slower pace than Jeff, but then again at 6'6 he is over a foot taller than I am and his stride just a little longer!) Anyway, we had great support at the race. (The Lord helped me a great deal! I said quite a few prayers going up the hill between mile 7 and 8.) Grammie, Papa, Rue Rue, Papaw and of course Brooks came to cheer us on. It was quite early and nippy so we were very thankful for their support! We had fun, but are glad that it is over.

Way to go Kristy & Jeff! You guys inspire me to do this- maybe next year! Jeff, in comparison to Kristy, you look like you took advantage of that short break to stop & visit. Great job to both of you! You guys are always doing fun things- our lives aren't nearly as adventurous.
