Introducing the 2007 Bird Family Pumpkin. . .

During our Wal-mart excursion today I bought a pumpkin. We usually use one of the plastic ones that lights up, but I thought Brooks is old enough this year that he would enjoy helping with a real pumpkin. I was excited to get home from eating out tonight so we could carve it before nightfall. The end result was good, but Brooks could have cared less! I got him to put his hand in the pumpkin to help me clean it out and he thought that was the most disgusting thing ever, so Jeff and I took turns carving it!

The first cut - Brooks is interested for about .0879 of a second.

By this point Brooks was dying to put the candle in the pumpkin. For those you who do not know, Brooks is a candle freak!!! I have had to hide all the candles in the house because all he wants to do is light them and blow them out. He was not interested in this pumpkin at all until we mentioned putting a candle in it.

Jeff got in on the carving action and did a lot better than me!

All this work and all Brooks wanted to do was play ball. He kept yelling, "I throw it. Momma catch it. Daddy kick it." Forget the pumpkin when you can play ball.
Our sweet pumpkin (Brooks)

Drum roll please . . . . . .
