Brooks' 1st Parade

This morning we took Brooks to the Greenback Christmas Parade. For those of you who don't know much about Greenback it is a lot like Mayberry! It has one flashing yellow light, a drugstore, a post office, an IGA, 2 banks (side by side), and many churches! Greenback is behind the times in many ways --- and that is not always bad! The school Jeff and I teach at is PreK-12 and we only have about 700 students. There are not too many schools that exist today where you can walk down the hall and hear the kindergartners saying their prayer before lunch and then walk to the principal's office and hear someone's bottom being busted ----- I LOVE IT! Two of the best things that have been taken out of most schools (prayer and corporal punishment) we still have at Greenback. It is such a great community and we are glad to be a part of it.
The parade was fun. We knew most of the kids in it and Brooks love the fact that they threw candy at us. At first he tried to throw it back, but we explained that we got to keep it!

Look what they are throwing -------CANDY!
Greenback's Marching Band

Look I got candy------ and a new doggie too!

It wouldn't be a rural town parade without tractors!
