Ready, Ready, Ready - Ready to Run!

Over the weekend I completed one of my lifetime goals - compete (run) in a major race. Saturday I ran in the Music City Half-Marathon. I have been training since January and I have grown to even enjoy running, or at least the feeling I get after I am finished. There were only about 30,000 other runners in this race - so we were all packed in like sardines. I ran the 13.1 miles in 2:47, not great, but I was proud that I ran about 11 of the 13 miles. Surprisingly, when it was over I felt great, a little stiff, but good enough to go to my parent's, take a shower, and go out shopping. I think that I will try the Knoxville Half-Marathon next year!
Jeff was so supportive of my goal. I could not have completed this without him!

In line to begin the race - they only had over 30 different start times!

The start line for the marathon.

While I was running, Jeff and Allen decided to get a healthy breakfast. They said that they were in training too!

Running across the finish line!

Guess what, Mom? I did it! And I am still standing!
